This SCM Tempus project aims to develop a quality assurance (QA) system for three Egyptian universities: Helwan, Menofia, and Tanta . Pilot implementation of this system will be done. Training of trainers (TOT) in some aspects of the QA is also included.

Mission and Objectives of the Project

Mission
To develop a quality assurance system in the Egyptian universities based on, and in-line with the European systems.
Vision
Introducing the culture of quality in the Egyptian universities and having an operational quality assurance system at the three Egyptian universities.
Objective
To have a pilot implementation of the developed system at the end of the project.

The project aims to

(a) inform the Egyptian partners of the scope and operation of the QA systems operating within the two partner EU universities.

(b) contextualize the operation of the Egyptian universities for the EU partners, so that an appreciation of an appropriate QA model can be developed;

(c) Conceptualize a model for a QA system applicable to the Egyptian partners and pilot this model with three selected programs, one at each partner;

(d) undertake a self-assessment within the Egyptian partners, where the participating teams evaluate the outcomes of the pilot exercise;
